The Rivers State election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja, has admitted as exhibits photographs of corpses of voters allegedly shot dead by
political hoodlums, as well as those of burning of election materials during the April 11 governorship polls.
The photographs were tendered by the All Progressives Congress (APC) witness, Mr. Kamusu Blankson, who was subpeonaed by the tribunal.
Blankson while testifying at the resumed hearing claimed that he went to the polling units with an analogue camera to record events because of his past experience in the March 28 presidential election.
The witness who was led in evidence by the Counsel to APC and its governorship candidate, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, Akin Olujimi (SAN) claimed the presidential election in the state was shameful because of acts of violence. He stated that from April 10 there was sporadic shooting and tension in the area which he alleged prevented people from coming out to vote.
But Blankson, under cross-examination by counsel to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifedayo Adedipe, said he did not know those shooting in the night but only heard the sporadic shooting.
