Rivers Tribunal: INEC Accuses Army, Security Agencies of Lying Under Oath

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has accused the Nigerian Army and other security agencies who stood as witnesses for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the contested April 11 River State governorship polls, of lying on oath before the  Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
‎The commission, at the resumed hearing Monday alleged that the Army authorities, in a bid to discredit the outcome of the gubernatorial election, sent soldiers that gave false evidence before the Justice Suleiman Ambrosa-led tribunal.
‎The Nigerian Army personnel had in their separate testimonies before the tribunal early this month  on the petition that was lodged by the APC, and its governorship candidate, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, insisted that the poll in Rivers State was marred by widespread violence.
