Rivers States Government Denounces Pro-Biafra Protest in Port Harcourt

 A day after a group of protesters sympathetic to the Biafran movement went on rampage on the streets of Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Government has come out to denounce the demonstration.

Governor Nyesom Wike has also disassociated himself and the Rivers state Government from members of the so called "Indigenous people of Biafra" warning that such public demonstration would not be tolerated by his administration.

In a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity, Opunabo Inkotaria. Governor Wike emphasized the indivisibility of Nigeria, the governor observed that actions of the pro-biafran members was capable of insighting chaos in the state, Wike said as a chief security officer of Rivers state; He will not tolerate any action that could lead to the breakdown of law and order in the state. The governor warned that the cohesive legal machineries will be set in motion against any group that will threaten the peace of the state.

He enjoined residence and all those doing business in Rivers state to go about their lawful duties with the assurance of their safety.
