We Are Not Part Of Any Delusion Called Biafra - Ikwerre Elders

Some elder States men of the ikwerre extraction in rivers state has frowned at what it described as an attempt by some persons to salvage the tribe in the biafran struggle.


The chairman of obio/akpor branch of the ogbakor Ikwerre, Chris Akani said no Ikwerre man will support the struggle of the secession of Biafra.

Akani who was speaking in a lecture of remembrance of the first ikwerre journalist, Nwonokuru Obasiolu. Called on all well meaning ikwerre sons and daughters to avoid getting involved in the Pro-Biafran agitation.

In his words:
 "We use this opportunity to call on all well meaning Ikwerre people to distance themselves from any political gathering in the name of Biafra, it is not a Nigerian Agenda, we believe in re-unity and indivisible existence of Nigeria, that was why most of our people were killed. By 2017 a book that drastically document the pains survived by the ikwerre ethnic nationality will be published. So we are not going to be part of any delusion called Biafra."
Chris Akani also disclosed that the ogbakor ikwerre has been making efforts to reconcile aggrieved ikwerre leaders including Gov. Nyesom Wike and former governor now minister of transport Rotimi Amaechi.

The ogbakor ikwerre in Obio/akpor also called for the late journalist Nwonokuru to be immortalized by the Rivers state government.
