The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), today  organized the partners for sustainable development forum. The program which is a consultative forum where key development stakeholders in the Niger Delta plan, network, harmonize and coordinate developmental activities towards a sustainable development of the Niger Delta Region.

It provides  an opportunity for members to interact, share experiences, mutually learn and forge actionable partnerships .

The Forum is made up of active development partners in Niger Delta Region such as: the nine (9) States Government of the Niger Delta; Oil & Gas Producing Companies; the Federal Government (National Planning Commission, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Amnesty Office); the Organized Private Sector; International Development Agencies (IDAs); Chairmen of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria in the Niger Delta State; the Civil Society Organization; and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The main mission of the PSD Forum is to drive the implementation of the Niger Delta Regional Development Master Plan.

During the program, the Acting NDDC Madam Ibim Semenitari welcomed a host of dignitaries from all states in the Niger Delta , saying " PSD is a platform for development , it affords stakeholders the opportunity to participate in the development of the region, she also thanked President Buhari for his massive support to the development representatives

Among the key note speakers, representatives of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs assured NDDC, and the indigenes of the region of their total commitment to the development , giving details to the ministry action plans.

Other Dignitaries that attended the program include, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, SA on youth, representatives of all Niger Delta Governors, as well as major players in the region .

The communique read at the end of the forum, highlighted the need for accountability, integrity, as well as personnel development of the indigenes , it was also agreed that host communities should be more involved in the drive for Niger Delta development
