10 dies in Ibadan auto crash

Tragedy occurred over the weekend at Itose area of the Oyo-Ibadan expressway as no fewer than 10 people were feared killed while another three people sustained serious injuries in an auto crash.
Crystal News learnt that the crash involved an Ilorin-Ogbomoso bound Toyota Hiace bus said to be com-ing from Sango Otta in Ogun State.


It was gathered that the Ilorin-Ogbomoso bound buswith registration number LS D 191 XK, ran into a ditch beside a filling station along the express road having suddenly sighted men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, who were on a routine check on the road.

According to an eye witness, the driver of the bus swerved off the road on sighting the FRSC men at a nearby point, lost control and rammed into the filling station’s wall fence before heading into a deep ditch and bodies of most of the victims were flung out from the bus.

The FRSC Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr. Tunde Onijala, while confirming the incident, said four male adults, four female adults and two children lost their lives in the auto crash
