Navy Arrests Bakassi Strike Force Leader


The Nigerian Navy has arrested the leader of Niger-Delta militant group “Bakassi Strike Force”.

The director of naval information commodore Chris Ezekobe in a statement said the suspect Uduak etim alias sangata, was picked from his hideout in calabar cross river state on September 12.

He also said four suspected sea pirates responsible for several attacks and robbery incidences at Oyorokoro, Ataba, Kaa and Oyorokoro communities in Andoni local government area of Rivers state, have been arrested.

The gang was alleged to have particularly attacked market women on September 4 2016 at Oyorokoro Community.


Accodring to Ezekobe, these arrests bring to fore the commitment of the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies to stamp out the menace of criminal brigandage in the region.
