The Elendus Stage Burial Carnival For Dad

For Prince Gift, Ugochukwu, Wenenda, Daniel and Temple. Saturday, September 24, 2016, was a day to remember. That was the day their father and role model, Pa Gibson Yayi Elendu was buried.

Interred at his ancestral town, Elibrada in Emuoha local government area of Rivers State, the funeral service which was attended by the high and mighty, including Nigeria’s Honorable Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi ably represented by the members of the state Party executive council, legislators, contestants of the National Assembly elections in the state and leaders of thought, was more like a carnival.

Pa Elendu’s journey to glory started with his shocking demise in the 2nd quarter of the year 2016, at 84. On Friday, September 23, 2016, a Christian wake was organized for the philanthropist, which was pioneered by Salvation Ministries international Church in Emuoha LGA of the state.

 The remains of late Pa Gibson Yayi Elendu was laid to rest on Saturday, September 24, at the Elendus’ compound Elibrada, Emuoha, Rivers State amidst torrents of eulogies from his family and thousands he influenced their lives.

Expectedly, a massive party commenced shortly after the interment with different interest groups, contemporary bands and entertainers who accorded the versatile grassroots politician a befitting rite of passage.

A thanksgiving service was next in line as the Elendus’ family all worshiped together at the Salvation Ministries Church in Elibrada on Sunday 25th September 2016. A short Photo session came afterwards as the entire Family stood for photographs with their mother and wife of the late Pa Gibson Yayi Elendu.

In his Words: “As far as I am concerned, my father was a great man. He was the best dad anybody would desire to have. He taught us alot… daddy was a great teacher. He was a role model. He was a disciplinarian. My father was a great counselor, an awesome father and a friend. He taught us love, He left behind some of the greatest legacies of love and selflessness”.
