ARREST OF JUDGES: THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF APC YOUTH LEAGUE BACKS PRESIDENT BUHARI AND DSS.
National President of APC Youth League Comr. Atir Solomon Faeren

The National President of APC Youth League Comr. Atir Solomon Faeren, yesterday backed last Saturday’s raid and arrest of some senior judges for alleged corruption and professional misconduct by the Department of State Services (DSS), arguing that the security agency didn’t contravane any law.

Comrade Solomon while addressing a press conference in Abuja over the operation of the DSS, revealed that the security agency had invited the judges but that it was forced to swoop on the judges upon getting information that they had instructed their lawyers to  file stay of execution on their impending arrest. He affirmed that the judiciary that was supposed to be the last hope of the common man has become in recent time the last hope of thieves and corrupt government officials. Comr.Solomon wondered why people will unabashedly steal public funds and display their loots ostentatiously and run to the judiciary for cover.

The National President urged Nigerians to congratulate and support President Muhammadu Buhari and the DSS for taken a bold step towards fighting corruption. He added that until corruption in the judiciary is addressed, the much needed sanity in the country will not be achieved, stressing that criminals have taken over the country.

Also, Comrade Atir Solomon condemned  the threat by the leadership of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) on the matter and accused NBA of encouraging corruption, adding that it was an indication that "corruption is fighting back” against the anti-corruption campaign of the government. He said the action of NBA had vindicated the President, who had said that the judiciary was a major hindrance to the fight against corruption.

The National President urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the DSS not to succumb to pressure but to ensure that the judges faced the law.

Signed
Hon. Marshall Israel,
Chief Press Secretary To The National President,
APC Youth League.
