Breaking News

An arm of the greater together new media team of APC in Rivers state have issued a press release against the backdrop of call  for the forceful resignation of  Nigerias transportation minister as being clamoured by individuals in the country, in a statement released by the GTNMT-Obio-Akpor Chapter.
the group described the call for resignation as Vindictive and Misplaced as they also commended the Minister  for his forthrightness and dedication towards a better Nigeria.

The statement Reads:

In the wake of the letters written by Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and Iyang Okoro, both of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, alleging that the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt.Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi attempted to bribe them in a bid to influence cases before My Lordships, several reactions from individuals, legal luminaries, public analyst and several other groups have since then, trailed the said letters.

Whereas, we consider it normal and appropriate for members of the public and other interested parties to express their views on matters of National concern.
However, one shocking and misplaced reaction was the call for the resignation of the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, by the Rivers State Government following the allegations of My Lordships, who are yet to advance any  substantial evidence to back up their claims beyond poorly scripted and highly discordant letters.

The Rivers State Government, hurriedly went on air to brazenly call for the resignation of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, a rare Statesman and a huge asset to the Nation, over a mere and unsubstantiated allegation, when it should ordinarily cover its face in shame for effectively failing in its primary responsibility of securing lives and properties in Rivers State. It is common knowledge that Governor  Wike's Government has witnessed more blood shed than any other government in the history of Rivers State.

It beats our moral submissions that a government founded and sustained by the blood of the citizens who it should constitutionally protect can turn a blind eye over the incessant and unlawful killings of its citizens, only to call for the resignation of a Statesman in the Person of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi. Is it not surprising that the Rivers State Government has being unable to effect any arrest or prosecution of the culprits and perpetrators of the  murder of innocent citizens of  Rivers State?

This call by the Rivers State Government has brought to the fore, the real reason behind the tirade of attacks on the person of Amaechi. It also exposes a possible connivance of the Rivers State Government with My Lordships to slander Amaechi, with the hopes that the latter will be forced to resign his position.

The Obio-Akpor Media Team reminds the public of a similar sinister and slanderous campaign earlier embarked upon by the Rivers State Government when
Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to be a Minister in his cabinet.
The Rivers State government fought tooth and nail against Amaechi's nomination, spending Billions of Naira in the process just to deny him a Ministerial Appointment. Having failed miserably in that inglorious and unreasoning attempt, it has once again resorted to another unprofitable venture of smear campaign against Amaechi.

We make bold to state that it is Governor Wike who should resign forthwith following his repeated inability to perform the cardinal functions of government in Rivers State. Governor Wike must now busy himself with issues of governance and quit his fruitless vindictive onslaughts against the Person of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

We advice my Lordships to advance evidences admissible in court against Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, or honourably quit the bench and maintain a reasonable silence over the issue in question. We need not remind My Lordships that their claims lack Justiciability if they cannot follow it up with credible evidences. It is also pertinent to point out here that the Justiceship of My Lords shall remain forever questioned should they fail to substantiate their claims beyond mere writing of comical letters.

We commend the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, for his forthrightness and dedication towards a better Nigeria. We strongly opine that the history of the 'New Nigeria' as we have now seen, cannot be completely written without a mention of Amaechi.
Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi's performance thus far as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is highly commendable and cannot be obfuscated by petty and puerile allegations from whatever quarters.
