One Feared Dead As Flood Take Over Port Harcourt; Environs

In a rather unfortunate twist major parts of Port Harcourt City,  and its environs  has been taken over by flood. This is not unconnected to the over 30 hour none stop rain between Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

The diseased  who is a petty trader in the famous mile one market is said to have been electrocuted in his house at uyo street Dline , this is due to the fact that his house was flooded and electrical appliances were on. Eye witness reports that the streets in the Dline axis ,  have been taken over by flood and the "diseased" was trying to evacuate his house when he was electrocuted .

Many have been left homeless as they have no where to go.
Properties worth hundreds of millions have been washed away by the flood , residents of Port Harcourt City have said the flooding is caused by the " sand-filling of the Eastern By Pass water way, the state authorities on the other hand  claim the flooding was caused by improper disposal of waste.

As at the time of this report, flooded areas include : Dline, Parts Mile 3, GRA, Rumukalagbor, Ikwerre road, parts of Aba road, Abacha road,  parts of mile one , Onne ( Eleme LGA) ....
